Here is a sneak peek of our May Art Show which begins this Friday with five local artists and one guest artist. The show is open to the public and all are invited to an Open House Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The artwork, which includes drawings, paintings, collages, giclee prints and ceramics will be on display all day Friday and Saturday.
Guest artist, Jon Buell, is a designer and illustrator in Dallas. Buell’s love for creation is combined with a more graphic and modern sensibility in giclee prints. Julie Sawtelle has painted a contemporary expression of a simple orchid blossom in oil. A drawing by Candace Morgan demonstrates the essence of flora as seen in strong black and white with an influence of light. Greg Morgan has created a mixed media series entitled, “Visceral Pleasures.” The series is a study of natural form through texture—somewhere between printmaking and painting, but pollinated with ephemeral collage. Eric Savage has taken photographic impressions and combined them to create imagery of past and present. Rhoda Reynolds will have ceramic pieces inspired by her love of nature.
