I'm always interested in new and original venues, so when I heard about the Union on Eighth in Georgetown, I couldn't wait to see it. Owners, Justin and Katy Bohls, saw the potential in an old transmission shop and transformed it into a beautiful space for events. They introduced it to the public last fall with an Open House and we were fortunate enough to be asked to be a part along with Kristen Kilpatrick whose images are seen here—and a slew of other talented vendors.
They've retouched the space just enough to make it comfortable without taking away the charm and beauty of the raw materials—exposed beam ceilings, concrete floors and fully functional garage doors.
The industrial textures provide a wonderful backdrop for softer elements—like flowers!
An added bonus was the opportunity to reconnect with a previous bride, Ellen Westcott of Westcott Events, and create an arrangement for her beautiful fall inspired tablescape.
And you just can't go wrong with vignettes of vintage furniture from Loot.
